I'm a sophomore computer science student at Elon University who's been building AI systems since I was 15. My work spans retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), large language models, computer vision, and natural language processing.

I've published open-source tools on PyPI, built and scaled a production AI product to 250+ monthly active users, and conducted original research on embedding model bias (currently under review for publication).

I'm especially interested in creating practical AI systems that people actually use.

Research

Detecting Ideological Bias in Embedding Models

Multi-dimensional analysis across 11 bias vectors

Under Review Jan 2024 – Present

Why this matters: Embedding models are foundational to modern AI systems. This research directly addresses AI safety and fairness by identifying and quantifying their biases.

  • Analyzed 6 major embedding models across 11 dimensions of potential bias (source credibility, false moral equivalency, framing, and more)
  • Found 67% of models demonstrate statistically problematic bias; identified critical failures distinguishing terrorist propaganda from democratic military sources
  • Faculty-endorsed as "the core of a good research paper" by Elon CS professor; currently under review for publication

AI-Based Fish Re-Identification for Behavioral Ecology

Field research meets computer vision

In Progress Mar 2025 – Present

Why this matters: Current methods require physical tagging. This project enables non-invasive, individual-level behavioral studies bridging computer vision and behavioral ecology in meaningful ways.

  • Designing a non-invasive camera tunnel system to capture individual salmon in natural stream conditions
  • Training a CV re-identification model on existing long-term monitoring datasets, built to handle turbidity, motion blur, and inconsistent lighting
  • Deploying on local hardware for cost-effective, human-free field use; full open-source system + deployment instructions as deliverables
  • Enables individual-level behavioral studies previously impossible without physical tagging

All Projects

Movement Tracking Visualizer

Computer Vision
Apr 2025
  • Frame-differencing motion detection system built for security monitoring and subtle environment change tracking

Bitcoin Sentiment Analysis

Local LLM NLP
Apr 2025 – Jul 2025
  • Running sentiment analysis on tens of thousands of #Bitcoin tweets with a local LLM; investigating correlations between social media sentiment and next-day price movements

AI Pong Bot

Reinforcement Learning
Jan 2024 – Mar 2024
  • Self-training RL agent via iterative self-play; achieved 27,000+ consecutive successful volleys

Foosball Tracker

Computer Vision
Jan 2023 – Feb 2023
  • My dad and I play a lot of foosball at our house so to gain an advantage I decided I wanted to see a heatmap of the board based on where the ball most often is. I used simple computer vision tactics to create it and now I never lose.

Chess3PO

Game AI
Aug 2021 – Present
  • Chess AI using minimax with alpha-beta pruning; evaluates three moves ahead on piece value and positioning

Rock Paper Scissors Bot

TensorFlow Computer Vision
Dec 2020
  • CNN trained on only hundreds of hand-gesture images; real-time model predicts and counters human moves
